Dr. Alka Mittal is former CMD and Director (HR) of ONGC. She was also the Chairperson of ONGC Group of Companies viz. ONGC Videsh, MRPL, OPAL, OTPC, etc. 
Dr. Mittal has the distinction of being the first woman to head ONGC. She also was the first ever woman Functional Director of ONGC in its history, when she assumed the charge of Director (HR) in 2018. She superannuated from the services of ONGC in August 2022 after an illustrious career spanning more than 37 years.
Dr. Mittal is a post graduate in Economics, MBA (HRM) and a Doctorate in Commerce and Business Studies in the specialized area of Corporate Governance. She is also a Non-Executive Director Diploma holder - Pearson SRF BTEC Level 7 Advanced Professional Diploma from FT, UK. 
Dr. Mittal has been placed in the Fortune Global Top Ten Women CEOs list in 2023 and is recipient of prestigious awards like Inspiring CEO of India Award, HR World Thought Leaders 2022 by Economic Times, Silver Stevie Award in the Woman of the Year category at the International Business Awards 2021 and many other recognitions.
