Meghalaya launches Capacity Building Plans (CBPs) as part of MATI’s Annual Conference at Shillong, Meghalaya
The Government of Meghalaya has launched its Capacity Building Plans (CBPs) under Mission Karmayogi as part of the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute's (MATI) Annual Conference in Shillong, Meghalaya.
The event was graced by Shri D.P. Wahlang, Chairman of Meghalaya State Food Commission, and the Former Chief Secretary of Meghalaya, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he acknowledged MATI for its sustained efforts in the field of capacity building. He also emphasised upon the growing imperative for collaborative governance, calling for deeper engagement among Government, academia, civil society, communities, and international partners in shaping a more responsive and capable public administration.
Smt. Chandralekha Mukherjee, Principal Advisor-Capacity Building Commission, Govt. of India, also addressed the event via online mode. She congratulated nodal officers for finalising their CBPs, highlighted Meghalaya as a frontrunner under Mission Karmayogi, and calling it as a model for the entire North-Eastern region. In her address, she mentioned CBP as a living roadmap, and said that it reflects a commitment to build a more capable and efficient public service. She also urged departments to implement their CBPs as a contribution towards Viksit Bharat@2047 vision.
Director, MATI, Shri Swapnil Tembe, highlighted the institute's pivotal transition from a rule-based to a role-based competency development approach, in alignment with the principles of Mission Karmayogi. Among the notable accomplishments highlighted were the expansion of training programmes, progress towards accreditation, the implementation of demand-driven training through the Induction Training Programme (ITP), and the strengthening of institutional partnerships. Shri Tembe elaborated on important aspects, including leadership development, digital transformation through the Training Management Information System (TMIS), the scaling of Mission Karmayogi across Meghalaya, and the development of digital learning content for the iGOT platform.
• The conference marked the formal release of 47 departments and directorates’ Capacity Building Plans (CBPs) and MATI Training Calendar,
• Recognised and awarded the state’s top 10 Learners on the i-GOT platform.
The conference concluded reaffirming the institute's unwavering commitment to strengthening public service capacity, promoting innovation, and advancing towards the transformative vision of Mission Karmayogi in Meghalaya.
