Member, CBC, Dr Alka Mittal addressed the leadership of CWC, women officials at the Women’s Day celebrations at Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) in New Delhi. 
During her talk, Dr Alka Mittal emphasised that leadership is accountable and responsible towards promoting the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) agenda.  Citing recent example of Covid, she said that the pandemic has brought down so many barriers by bringing down stereotypes on gender roles, where females and males could be seen sharing domestic responsibilities along with meeting professional commitments from home. This she said goes in favour of D&I. 
Dr Mittal further said that that diversity and inclusion is the way forward for any future-ready organization. Businesses that can effectively handle diversity and promote inclusion in the workplace in a global talent market would have a definite competitive advantage over others in terms of differentiation, creativity, productivity and employer branding, she said.  Member, CBC, also said that, as social beings, we all wish to be part of an inclusive society and this works in favour of organisations by way of empowering employees and thereby leading to increase in the productivity levels with increased feeling of belonging and ownership.
