The 2nd batch of the Advanced Faculty Development Programme (FDP) commenced today at ISB campus in Hyderabad with high energy, and a strong sense of collective responsibility for being the catalyst to enable strengthening of the government's capacity building ecosystem. The programme opened with a context-setting address by Dr. R. Balasubramaniam, Member (HR), Capacity Building Commission, who reminded the cohort that this initiative under Mission Karmayogi is not merely about a 5 day program. It is about building the deeper capabilities required to enable real outcomes for citizens, by strengthening those who shape learning across institutions. Faculty, as he emphasised, are the true multipliers of change. Setting the tone for the days ahead, Prof. Chandrasekhar Sripada led an engaging opening session focused on understanding the cohort itself by surfacing expectations, experiences, and perspectives in the room. The session created a shared starting point for both participants and facilitator, enabling collective coherence and a common learning language. As the group comes together over the next five days, the emphasis will be on embracing the challenge of learning to teach and facilitate learner centred learning through reflection, practice, peer exchange, and experiential engagement. This week CBC's effort of faculty development will enable deep learning, unlearning, and collaboration for its participants to facilitate strengthening of the public service ecosystem.
