The National Standards for Civil Services Training Institutions (NSCSTI) 2.0 was officially launched today by the Hon’ble Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh at CSOI, Vinay Marg, New Delhi.

Developed by the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) under Mission Karmayogi, NSCSTI 2.0 marks a significant upgrade to the world's first accreditation framework designed exclusively for civil services training institutions (CSTIs). The framework offers enhanced flexibility, addresses emerging tech needs, and promotes a holistic, future-ready and community-driven ecosystem for civil services training institutions.

In the keynote address by Hon’ble Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh emphasized the importance of creating future-ready civil servants through globally benchmarked, outcome-oriented training systems. He noted that NSCSTI 2.0 reflects India’s commitment to building a citizen-centric and performance-driven bureaucracy.

Setting the context for the new framework, Adil Zainulbhai, Chairman, CBC, highlighted the need for CSTIs to evolve in step with a rapidly changing governance landscape and underlined the importance of continuous institutional learning and improvement.

Dr. R Balasubramaniam, Member HR, CBC, outlined the new and unique features of the framework, including the Karmayogi Competency Model (KCM), the Amrit Gyaan Kosh digital knowledge repository, and the Indian Knowledge System (IKS).

Dr Alka Mittal, Member Admin, CBC, spoke about the importance of quality in public training and urged CSTIs to pursue reaccreditation under the upgraded framework. She highlighted that NSCSTI 2.0 is not just about compliance but about driving a culture of excellence, innovation and accountability in training.

The event featured dignitaries from DoPT, CBC, and Karmayogi Bharat who spoke about the importance of strengthening the training ecosystem of civil services and furthering the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

As part of the launch, a ceremonial distribution of certificates was also held for institutes which were accredited under NSCSTI 1.0, recognizing the efforts of the civil service training institutions that have met national standards of excellence.

NSCSTI 2.0 sets a new benchmark in public sector training globally and reflects India’s leadership in governance reform and digital transformation in capacity building.
