In alignment with our mission to empower Urban Local Body (ULB) officials to be citizen-centric, future-ready, and outcomes-driven, the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), in collaboration with the Housing & Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha, conducted a capacity-building workshop on 23rd July 2025 at the Odisha Urban Academy (OUA), Bhubaneswar.

The workshop convened 100+ ULB officials from across the state and featured domain and functional sessions on key areas such as the principles of #MissionKarmayogi, public procurement, and budget planning for ULBs, among others—equipping officials with the tools to drive more effective and accountable urban governance.

A major highlight was the demonstration of the #iGOTKarmayogi platform, emphasizing its role-based digital learning capabilities. With over 3 lakh officials from Odisha already onboarded, the state stands at the forefront of India’s digital capacity-building transformation.

The workshop was graced by senior dignitaries from both the Centre and the State, including Dr. Alka Mittal (Member – Administration, CBC), Smt. Usha Padhee, IAS (Principal Secretary, H&UD Department, Government of Odisha), Shri S P Roy (Joint Secretary, CBC), Shri Satrughna Kar (Additional Secretary, H&UD Department, Government of Odisha), and Dr Santanu Rath (Director, Odisha Urban Academy). Their presence and insights reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening institutional and individual capacities.

This initiative marks a significant step toward scalable, inclusive, and sustained capacity building across Odisha’s ULB ecosystem.
