Building Future-Ready Organisations for Viksit Bharat 

At the inaugural session of SAIL L&D Conclave "Gyan Utsav 2026", organised by SAIL Management Training Institute, Ranchi, Dr. Alka Mittal, Member (Administration), Capacity Building Commission, delivered the keynote address on “Skilling for Viksit Bharat”.

Addressing the learning professionals, training leaders, and capacity-building champions from SAIL, she highlighted the evolving landscape of capacity building, while underscoring the need to move from training to performance-linked governance and from rule-based to role-based capacity development.

She highlighted that building a developed India requires strengthening institutions through continuous learning, competency-driven approaches, and creation of a culture where individuals and organisations continuously evolve.

She also shared the journey of Capacity Building Commission and its efforts towards strengthening the governance ecosystem through initiatives such as DAKSH, Strategic Communication Workshops for CPSEs, Amrit Gyaan Kosh, IKS Cell, UNNATI, Samuhik Charcha, Karmayogi Kartavya Karyakram, among other CPSE-focused capacity-building interventions.

Emphasizing on the importance of collaboration, digital learning, and institutional excellence, she spoke about the role of Capacity Building Commission in creating organisations that are agile, knowledge-driven, and prepared for future challenges.

Gyan Utsav 2026 provided a platform for deliberations on emerging priorities in organisational learning, including Learning at Workplace, Digital Learning, and Centres of Excellence, strengthening the shared vision of continuous capability enhancement.
