Chairperson, CBC, Ms S Radha Chauhan addressed at the 18th Foundation Day of the National Statistical Systems Training Academy (NSSTA) today. She said that Statistics is not merely the science of numbers: it is the science of truth. And truth, when harnessed with integrity, becomes the foundation of justice, progress, and humanity.
She appealed to build a future where data guides decisions, statistics safeguards fairness, and AI serves humanity with wisdom and integrity.
Ms Radha Chauhan spoke about the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s AI Competency Framework, which defines competencies across the AI lifecycle: policymakers, program managers, and project implementers ensuring that every role is equipped to harness AI responsibly. The framework emphasizes behavioral, functional, and domain-specific skills, embedding fairness, accountability, and transparency into the very fabric of governance.
She said that Capacity Building Commission, under Mission Karmayogi, provides the policy framework and the institutional backbone for this reform. Our civil servants are dynamically and strategically being capacitated to handle the challenges of delivering public services in the age of AI and its Agentic ecosystem, she added.
She further said, through the iGOT Karmayogi platform, millions of officials already access structured learning pathways. By integrating AI and statistical training, India guarantees scalability, standardization, sustainability, and ethical governance.
Chairperson, CBC said National Statistical Systems Training Academy and the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation have been engaged and significantly collaborated with CBC and iGOT for progressing on building capacities across governance machinery.
