Somavansis

Odisha witnessed a period of glory and prosperity under the Somavamsis which also go by the name of Panduvamsis, flourished in south Kosala around fag end of the 7th century CE. Soon their domain expanded to Utkala and the south Kalinga, thereby incorporating the East Odisha and West Odisha, which was unprecedented. The Somavamsi became an imperial power by the 10th century CE with their rule over the entire Odisha. But soon, this extraordinary power declined by the 12th century CE.
