Tekchand Committee Report on Corruption/ Report of the Special Police Establishment Enquiry Committee
Why constituted?
- To review the Prevention of Corruption Act 1947 and to suggest areas of improvement
- To assess the success achieved by the Special Police Establishment in combating corruption
The committee recommended that offering illegal gratification be made a substantive offense because the person who provides the bribe of a public servant is as morally wrong as the one who is offering it.
